Not so sure about these darn hats, but the food looks good.

Georgia birthday

Folks are ignoring ME! I think I will pout, says Andy. All the attention is on the birthday girl.

"Who is that sitting on MY couch!" Andy and Roy were heard saying! My sister and cousin Finny

Couch potatoes

Andy and Roy are not allowed on the furniture, except on this one couch in the study. It is particularly nice to "cuddle" with Mom when there is a thunder storm rumbling about outside.

Happy Father's Day!

Mom's oven coil burned out, so Dad is getting "taken out" for his Father's Day celebration. Sadly, they won't let the boys go too. : (

Away from home

The three boys had to get along with me while I traveled in the Hudson River Valley with one of my daughters. Both boys gave me a thorough sniffing over especially after having been with my granddog, Finny. Roy was quite ready for some welcome home loving after that, but Andy was still a little peeved with me for leaving him so long. BUT - when he saw Roy getting some loving, his jealousy overcame his anger. It took quite a while to get the boy's coats all brushed out after their Dad only gave them a cursory brushing occasionally.

Monthly Bath

I haven't had any news in a while, so thought I would post a picture of the boys after their monthly bath. Are they not beautiful??!! In the background you can see their "pup door" to pass from the screened porch out into the fenced area.

Mother's Day 2009

The boys sent their Dad to buy me the beautiful blue Hydrangea for Mother's Day. My girls in NYC sent me the most beautiful and huge pink roses! I feel very much loved.

Phil's 68th Birthday

Our eldest daughter made it home for her Dad's birthday. After a dinner of the birthday boy's choosing, he opened presents with a little help from the boys.

Happy Easter!

The boys and their stuffed friends wish everyone a very Happy Easter and meaningful Passover.  Notice the orange tree in the background.  As soon as the chance of frost is over, it will be moved outside so the bees can do their work and we will have more oranges!

"Shack" group

I found that several friends had read "The Shack."  We got together for lunch to discuss the thought provoking and  inspiring book.  We also managed a little "girl" talk too. The boys made an appearance and left since they are not into heady theological discussion nor "girl" talk.

39th Wedding Anniversary

Phil and I celebrated our 39th Wedding Anniversary today.  We went out to eat at a nice restaurant and then on to hear the Academy of Ancient Music perform at the UGA Performing Arts Center.  They performed all of the Brandenburg Concertos.  It was a delightful evening.  The concert was long, so the boys were awfully glad to see us when we returned home.

March Snow

......and it's still falling!  This is our first snow in Georgia this year!  Notice the camellia blooming in the background.  Its confused.

Scissor-happy husband

Roy got some pine tar on his blaze, so his Dad got the scissors to cut the stickies out and then got scissor-happy.  My frustrated hair-dresser then proceeded to trim Andy and Roy's blaze.  You can see the results in the picture.  : (

Bird Bath

For Christmas, Marian gave me a "bird bath."  Would you believe that after all our really cold weather, we ate brunch on the porch today in February!??  I got to turn on my bird bath which is now happily living on the porch dining table.  It gurgles and tinkles like a real fountain.

New 2008 book

Kong Time

After Mom and Dad's supper, Andy and Roy get to wrestle a goodie from their Kongs.

Uncle? Cousin?

Our daughter, Marian's Finny was here to help us celebrate Christmas.  He had his own stocking hung by the fireplace, just like the boys.  My question is this:  If Marian is our daughter and Finny is her "child," then Andy and Roy are Finny's uncle?  Right? Since Finny weighs 40 pounds, and the boys weigh under 20 pounds, they would rather think of him as a "cousin" than an uncle.  Besides he doesn't want to be "uncled" by two fluffs.  He just wants to be left alone for the most part.
